Smart Phone Revolution

October 22nd, 2010

You have the iPhone and the Blackberry and now the Android.  They continue to develop more smart phones and the technology has taken over our world.  Can you imagine going a whole day without a phone by your side?? Would you be lost?

I know I would. I actually have two phones, one for work and one for personal. My personal phone is a Samsung Alias 2 which is great and I love the flip that opens sideways so I can have a full keyboard for texting. With a 13 year old, a parent MUST know how to text. Oh, and a 70 year old! Yes, my mother has become a texting queen.

My work phone is an iPhone. Oh how I love it. It has gotten me to places and gotten me home from places. It is my alarm in the morning to wake me and I enjoy the games I have on it in the evenings. It’s quite amazing the things they can do (oh ya,  I use it for work stuff too). To imagine my life without one now seems crazy. However, about 2 years ago I was surviving just fine without one. It’s crazy the things that are introduced to your life and all the sudden you find your self in a panic just thinking of being without them.

The Real Estate world continues to be thrust into this technology world whether the agents like it or not. From the websites to being in touch 24/7, technology continues to change things.

Bob Parks Realty has worked hard at staying up to date with the latest and greatest technologies. Sometimes they make our life easier and sometimes they seem to complicate them more. But, for the most part technology has enhanced the Real Estate “shopping” experience.

Here are just a few things we have implemented to assist our clients in their searching.

Our website at www.bobparks.com allows you to create an account where you can save your favorites, save searches and more! Every property listed in the Middle Tennessee area is available on our site to be looked at, mapped and even get community information. If you are in the process of looking for a home, I encourage you to check it out! If you are in the process of wanting to sell your home there is a virtual market analysis you can get on your home as well!

Our website also has a mobile version so you can search on the go. All you do is go to www.bobparks.com on your mobile device and it already knows you’re on a phone and will direct you to the mobile version for easier searching and more on the smaller screen.

We also have a texting service. If you text the word ‘Parks’ to ‘59559’ you will get a reply asking for a street name or number. Once you put that in (or a full address) you will get a reply with the price, square feet, and more! You initially text the word ‘Parks’ so that the system knows your in Middle Tennessee. It’s a great service for people out driving around and you see a home and wonder how much it costs, etc. No more trying to get the phone number off the sign. Just send a text message and you have all the info you need!

These are all great technologies that allow our clients to be able to search for homes efficiently on their smart phones (that they can no longer live without).

Check them out and enjoy! Let us know what you think!

Fearless Female in Murfreesboro

February 17th, 2010

Kudos to Janis Fredricks Burchell for her appearance in the February/March 2010 Murfreesboro Magazine “Women In Business, Our City’s Fearless Females” section, page 22. Murfreesboro Magazine asked her “Why choose Murfreesboro for your business?” Janis responded with , “Our middle son graduated from MTSU in the fall of 1998. He stayed and started a business. We decided after frequent visits to Murfreesboro to retire here. This is a great community and Tennessee has no income taxes. We moved here from New Jersey in 2007.”

Janis was asked and answered a few other questions and also mentions fellow Realtor, Janet Mills of Bob Parks Murfreesboro Office, and her inspirational family story. To read the complete article, visit www.murfreesboromag.com.

Janis currently holds her E-PRO Designation and is the final stages of completing her ABR. Contact Janis for your Real Estate needs by mobile at 615-869-8899 or by email janisb@realtracs.com.

The initial cost to implement green and healthier living in your home may seem like it’s too much, but when you compare the benefits and energy saved, you come out way ahead. The results and cost of implementing tankless water heaters, high efficiency HVAC, PEX water pipes, spray foam, etc can equal a 30-70% reduced energy bill, plus increase the overall resale value of your home. In addition to cost savings, your air quality is up to 50% cleaner.

Another way to look at implementing healthier and cost reduced living would be to consider buying a green HOME the next time you are house hunting. One of the major builders in Middle TN is Herrington Homes, LLC. They focus on building LEED® certified homes. LEED is a rating system that sets the standard for designing and building high performance healthy homes that use less energy, water, and natural resources.

Check out this green LEED home currently on the market in Hendersonville:

1547 Hunt Club BLVD, Hendersonville, TN 37066

$479,900 MLS # 1067037

Total SQ 3070
