Smyrna Tennessee Named Top Retirement Suburb
Forbes Magazine recently named Smyrna Tennessee as one of the top retirement suburbs across the country. Smyrna is only about 25 miles from downtown Nashville with easy access to the country landscape as well. Smyrna has a population of approximately 40,000 residents who enjoy the long history of Smyrna and Rutherford County. The Sam Davis Home is one of the most historic sites in Smyrna, which was the plantation home of heroic Sam Davis. He was famous for offering up his life rather than telling the Union soldiers secret information of the Confederate war efforts.
Smyrna's cost of living and low tax climate for people who have retired is very attractive with easy access to interstates, shopping, churches, downtown Nashville and cities beyond.

Another favorite landmark we like to visit in Nashville is The Hermitage which is the former home of President Andrew Jackson. The home is now a museum where you can learn about history from the Jackson ear and roam the beautiful gardens and grounds.
