Perched on the top of Rosa Parks Blvd and providing a panoramic view of downtown Nashville, these lofts are the perfect example of Nashville’s need to keep historic gems alive, giving them new life and purpose. An example of gentrifications at its best these lofts are New York style living in a factory originally constructed in 1871. Marathon Motor Works occupied the structure until 1922, when the Werthan Bag Company converted it to a textile plant, manufacturing cotton and burlap bags. Producing sandbags during World War II, packaging cotton, and shipping flour this factory eventually lost momentum when paper bags became the industry standard. And in fine Germantown tradition, instead of razing the vacant building and erasing 120 years of history, it was purchased and revitalized.
The Heart & Soul Benefit is the perfect time to come and take a peek at this modern marvel in real estate ingenuity. 25 foot ceilings, 100 year old restored hardwood floors, and exposed brick walls tell stories of success, failure, and new life. Come and listen to those walls talk, drink some wine, meet some new people, and give a little to charity in the process.
