Valentine's Day in the 'Ville

February 10th, 2012

If you are one of the lucky few that look forward to Valentine’s Day, Nashville offers some fantastic romantic activities for you and your loved one. Perhaps a deluxe Valentine’s package at Prime 108, Union Station Hotel’s elegant restaurant, including “luxurious accommodation” with your five-star meal, might be in the cards. If an overnight stay isn’t possible, maybe a Saint Valentine’s four course meal with wine pairings at Flyte World Dining and Wine is in order. “Not quite SoBro, not quite Gulch” this ritzy restaurant provides a very affordable romantic dining option all weekend long.

The true Nashvillian at heart might not ever describe themselves as “ritzy” or “swanky.” This person should head down to Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant, where Chris Johnson and the LoCash Cowboys are providing dinner and a show on Valentine’s night. With a menu including grits and a band described as “passionate and fun” $45.00 gets you a Valentine’s night to remember.

For those of you that dread Valentine’s Day, there are certainly options for you as well that don’t involve sitting on the couch and espousing the dreadful commercialism of the day. Benchmark Bar and Grill is hosting Love Stinks: Anti-Valentine’s Day Party February 14th, from 5 p.m. until 3 a.m. $4.00 Jell-o shots and $5.00 dirty martinis will help even the most jaded of Valentine’s Day critics to enjoy themselves.

However you choose to celebrate this day of love, dedicated to a martyred Saint that helped young soldiers get married to their sweethearts behind the back of the Roman Empire and set on February 14th to Christianize a pagan fertility ritual, make sure you make reservations.
