LaVergne Makes Affordability List by CNN Money
My office at Bob Parks Realty was thrilled a few years ago when Smyrna made the US News & Consumer Report Best Places to Retire list. We imagined all kinds of baby boomers heading straight toward us as they approached their gray years. While we haven’t been trampled, we do see a steady housing market … slower now due to the recession, but steady.
Imagine how delighted we are to see that Smyrna’s sister city of LaVergne just made it’s own list … this list published by CNN Money. We have been named (at #18) one of the top 25 most affordable places to live in the U.S..
Housing is very affordable here … home range from the $50,000 mark (usually mobile homes) to the half million mark. In addition to great housing opportunities, we’re right next door to country music’s iconic Nashville. It’s pretty amazing to drive just 20 minutes to catch the symphony or a rock concert, see an NFL football game or hockey or baseball game, visit a museum, walk to a park … the list is endless!
However, LaVergne boasts its own list of things to do: celebrate Old Timers Day in September, go fishing or boating in Percy Priest Lake, have a hot fudge shake at the Sonic or watch a little league game at one of our ballparks.
We are affordable. We are a small town with small town activities. We are near a big city with even more to do. LaVergne is the place I happily call home. For more information about our town, visit the community blog.
